Portrait of the shepherd K. Nurmagambetov. 1965 yr.
In front of us there is a portrait-type in the full face of a male shepherd, located to the right of the middle of the composition. Colour is bright, lilac-beige. The picture is conventionally divided into three planes, a light-air perspective is well conveyed; the foreground is warmer, beige-yellow. The background is blurred and painted in grey lilac tones, the horizontal forms of the background and the vertical silhouette of the shepherd give dynamics to seemingly static work. The shepherd is dressed in a warm light green jersey; he has a warm brown hat with a fur hat on his head, a black scarf around his neck. It is worth paying attention to his look, you feel a strong, severe character of the hero through wrinkles, stitched eyebrows, grey beard and straight posture. Grey colour patches of plants resonate with the colour of the hills and the sky, which in general creates harmony in this work. In general, the work is in soft colours, due to which the author achieved concentration of attention on the character.
